Ten man Harps hold on to draw with UCD

Finn Harps 1 UCD 1

The ten men of Finn Harps held on to a well deserved draw against UCD at Finn Park on Thursday night.

Sean O’Donnell was sent off after 25 minutes for a coming together off the ball with Adam Verdon as the Harps had an uphill task.

It got even worse when Jake Doyle found the near corner of the net on 43 minutes and the Students went into the break 1-0 up.

But the Harps bounced back as Aaron McLaughlin played a through ball to Success Edogun on the left of the box and the Kilkenny man opened his body to curl into the far corner within ten minutes of the restart.

Tony McNamee forced a great save out of Kian Moore but the visitors had the majority of the second half chances, with Tim Hiemer preventing them multiple times.

The game ended 1-1 after 97 minutes as the draw puts the Harps down to fifth into the mid-season break while UCD stay second.
