DONEGAL is represented by no fewer than TEN people on new Central Committees put together by new GAA President Liam O’Neill.

The Co. Laois man has put together several committees to look after various strands of the Association during his tenure as President – with Donegal having one of the highest representations of any county.

Former Ulster Council President Tom Daly, who hails from Ballyshannon, is set to lead a high-powered International Operations Committee. Daly will Chair the committee that contains the four provincial secretaries as well as the CEOs of the Camogie and Ladies Football organisations.

Daly is in good company in Croke Park with nine other Donegal natives set for roles on the committees that have been pieced together by O’Neill early in his reign.

Former Donegal secretary Crona Regan (Naomh Conaill) will sit on a new Youth Committee, while former Donegal chairman and long-time Co Board member Naul McCole has been appointed to the Coiste Naisúnta na Geilge.

Current Central Council delegate Niall Erskine (Killybegs) will form a part of the Rules Advisory Committee. He is one of two Killybegs club men to have new roles with Ed Byrne having been announced on the National Insurance and Risk Management Committee.

Ballyshannon man Mick McGrath, a former inter-county referee, is on the National Referee’s Committee, while Donegal coaching officer Anthony Harkin is on the National Games Administration Committee.

Elsewhere, Liam Ward from Glenfin sits on the powerful National Infrastructure Committee and Carndonagh secretary Elizabeth Doherty has been assigned a role in the Club Officer Development Committee.

And the tenth Donegal representative is set to be Glenswilly’s Lisa O’Donnell. The Coiste Naisúnta Scór has yet to be confirmed, but it is understood that Lisa, a well-renowned worker for Glenswilly’s Scór teams, has been sounded out about a role and has agreed to join the committee.
