Temperatures set to plummet

TEMPERATURES are set to plummet tonight with Met Eireann issuing a yellow weather warning for low temperatures and ice.

The warning comes into force from 6pm this evening and will remain in place until 10am tomorrow morning (Wednesday) for Donegal, Cavan, Monaghan, Longford, Clare and Connacht.

Very cold tonight with temperatures falling to between -2 and -5 degrees, possibly colder locally, with a widespread severe frost. Icy patches may form on untreated surfaces. Freezing temperatures will persist well into the day on Wednesday.”
