Teenage girl treated in hospital after attack

A teenage girl had to be treated in Letterkenny University Hospital for injuries she sustained in an attack.

The 17-year-old was walking with a friend in the laneway between the car park at Main Street, known locally as McElhinneys car park and Chestnut Road in Ballybofey, on Tuesday, June 13, at 7pm, when she was approached by a group of females, one of whom proceeded to assault her.

The girl in question had to attend Letterkenny University Hospital to receive treatment for injuries sustained, none of which are believed to be life threatening in nature.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and who had a dash cam to make the footage available to them.

The group of females in question are believed to have been hanging around in the general area of the car park that evening, and if anybody observed them or if anybody has any relevant information they are asked to contact Letterkenny Gardaí on (074) 9167100.
