Tata Consultancy Services, a global IT services, consulting and business solutions organisation, a significant employer in Letterkenny and the wider North West region, has been awarded the Investors in Diversity Bronze accreditation by the Irish Centre for Diversity.
Supported by the employer representative body, Ibec, Investors in Diversity is Ireland’s premier Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) accreditation mark.
The programme recognises existing efforts and supports the journey of continuous improvement by providing a structured framework to transform practices and culture.
Bronze is the first of the three stages in the Investors in Diversity Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Mark.
It provides organisations with a framework to put in place a strong foundation to embed EDI into wider organisational systems.
This best practice model enables organisations to measure and demonstrate EDI maturity at all stages of their EDI journey.
To gain this Bronze Investors in Diversity EDI Mark, TCS had to provide evidence that they have put in place appropriate D&I Policies, have delivered effective communication of policies to all staff, and have undertaken D&I training for all leaders.
Employing more than 1,100 people across Ireland, TCS is among the largest employers in the North-West region of Ireland, where TCS operates its Global Delivery Centre, based in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.
Commenting on the award Andrea McBride, Head of the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Letterkenny Global Delivery Centre said “Investors in Diversity Bronze affirms that we have built a strong foundation to embed Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) across the Global Delivery Centre and that we are equipped for the journey of becoming more equitable and inclusive. Achieving this certification was one of our strategic goals this year so I’m delighted that we have been successful.”
Diversity and inclusivity are at the heart of the TCS culture.
About 35% of the Irish workforce are women which is significantly above the 21% IT Industry standard.
The TCS Global Delivery Centre in Letterkenny published its first Gender Pay Gap Report in 2022.
The overall gender pay gap across all employees in the TCS Letterkenny Global Delivery Centre is 5.59%, which is very positive in comparison to the national average estimated by Eurostat figures in 2019 to be 11.3%.
Caroline Tyler, managing director for Irish Centre for Diversity said, “We are delighted to award TCS the Investors in Diversity Bronze accreditation and look forward to supporting the team in TCS as they continue on the path of progress.”
