Tax defaulters pay almost €1 million

Main Street, Bundoran publican, James O’Doherty made a settlement of €178,516.19 resulting from an underdeclaration of VAT, Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax following a Revenue Audit.

Ballybofey based Commission Agent, Michael Gallen of Meenglass Road agreed a settlement of €171,449 due to underdeclaration of Income Tax discovered through a Revenue Offshore Assets Investigation Case.
Dunfanaghy based company director Daniel Sweeney of The Manse made a settlement of €166,671 after an underdeclaration of Capital Gains Tax was found during a Revenue Audit.

Building Contractors Kilmac Form Work of Ballyherrin, Kilmacrennan agreed a settlement of 107,670 when an underdeclaration of VAT was found during a Revenue Audit.
Killygordon based Tree planting /Forestry operative Kevin Lafferty of Mounthall Cottage, Crossroads agreed a settlement of €52,855 after an underdeclaration of VAT and Income Tax emerged during a Revenue Audit.

The total number of settlements nation-wide for the second quarter was 114 which resulted in settlements with the Revenue Commissioners of over €26 million.

The largest settlement made in this quarter was made by a County Antrim property developer – Eassda Ireland Ltd of 745 Antrim Road, Templepatrick, agreed a settlement of €3,639,901.58 after underdeclaration of Relevant Contracts Tax was found during a Revenue Audit.
