London based freelance illustrator Tara McLaughlin from Letterkenny created concept art for the arthouse action drama Drive starring Ryan Gosling.
The design, orginally created by the National College of Art & Design (NCAD) graduate as concept work for the DVD menu, is featured with other posters and illustrations in a gallery of concept art for the film on the DVD.
“The concept art was done for a London based company, Dubbs-Eyeframe, who were working on the art for DVD menu.
“My brief was to create a sample style that could be shown to the client,” she said.

This comes only weeks after Tara hit the headlines by attracting the attention of Paddy Considine, star of movies such as In America, Cinderella Man, The Bourne Ultimatum and Blitz.
The British actor contacted Tara to place an order of two prints of illustrations inspired by his first movie as a director, Tyrannosaur (2011) starring Peter Mullan. So impressed was Considine that he returned additional prints sent by Tara, signed.
“It was great that he took the time to sign and post them back.
“I was tempted to keep them, but one of the prints has sold and the other has just gone to a London movie magazine, Little White Lies, who are going to use it as a competition prize.
“They have recently written reviews and interviewed Paddy Considine and Olivia Coleman, so they were very happy to take the print,” said Tara.
