Donegal 0-13 Tyrone 1-18

Donegal bowed out of this year’s championship with a tame defeat against neighbours Tyrone in MacCumhaill Park this evening.

The home side got off to a terrible start with Ruairi Canavan hitting the net in the second minute.

Tyrone were sharp in the first quarter but scores from Patrick McBrearty and Oisin Gallen kept Donegal in the mix.

The Red Hands used the wind well late in the half and were 1-10 to 0-8 up at the break.

Donegal were hoping for a good start to the second half but Tyrone struck the first three points after the resumption.

Aidan O’Rourke’s team did kick three points on the trot but that was as good as it got.

Tyrone finished very strongly and Donegal’s misery was compounded when Shaun Patton was shown a straight red card in injury-time.

A turbulent season is now at an end for the Donegal footballers.
