Tuesday marks the start of the Cheltenham Festival and if you are hoping to back a winner, then look no further than Totelsport Bookies. “There will be a lot of Irish punters about on the day and Faugheen will probably go off at 3/1 or even 5/2,” said Liam. The Gold Cup will be all about the ground with Might Bite expected to go off favourite. Soft ground will favour Native River though and he is 6/1 at the moment. In the Ballymore Novices Hurdle Samcro is the short priced favourite on around 4/5 but is there to be taken. Big things are expected from the Mullins’ trained Next Destination while On the Blind Side has won his last three starts out of the park in England.
Anyone looking for a value bet could do worse than turn an eye to Duc De Genieveres who goes in the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle on Friday. He was only beaten by seven lengths last time out with trainer Noel Fehily telling listeners afterwards that he needs another half a mile. If he has another half a mile in the tank, then seven lengths should be easily made up. There could be money to be made in the Coral Cup on Wednesday when Max Dynamite, who was second in the Melbourne Cup, lines up. Good to soft ground will suit him so keep an eye on the conditions. Trainer Patrick Kelly, known for landing big gambles, puts Presenting Percy out again this year in the RSA Chase and he could well do the business. But Kelly also has Mall Dini primed to run in the 5.30pm Kim Muir Chase at the Festival on Thursday. Odds of around 6/1 there look absolutely huge.
