Swilly Seals swimmers had a brilliant weekend representing Donegal at the national finals of the community games. The swimmers started a seven- week training block at the start of the Summer and it paid off.
All swimmers gave a good account of themselves including Aoibheann Sheridan, Emma Bonar, Conal Bonar, Marius Giddey and Eadaoin Kelly.
Swimmers who made it to the finals (top six) were Molly Nulty, Grainne Russell, Cara Nulty, Bronagh Sheridan, Aoibheann O Grady, Sinead O Kane, Eoin Bonar, Conor Shiels, Marius Giddey, Cian Mulligan and Conal Bonar.
Medals were won by Chloe Shiels, Silver u12 Breaststroke. Cody Dunnion, Silver u12 Breaststroke and Cian Mulligan Silver u14 Breaststroke. The Letterkenny u13 boys freestyle relay squad won Gold, the team include Cody Dunnion, Oisin Sheridan, Johnny Lambe, Eoin Bonar and subs Peter Coyle and Shay Maloney.
Marlins of Ballyshannon had a fine weekend also with Darragh Summerville winning Gold in the u10 Freestyle, Cian Rooney 4th u14 Butterfly, Cora Rooney Silver u12 Backstroke and the Ballyshannon Girls u13 relay squad also claiming Gold.
These swimmers will now get a short break before the normal swim season begins at the start of September.
