SWILLY Rovers have been drawn at home to University College Cork (UCC) in the first round of the 2014 FAI Ford Cup, while Cockhill Celtic have been given a bye into round two.
The draw was conducted this afternoon at FAI headquarters in Abbotstown.
Swilly were knocked out of the Intermediate Cup by UCD, but as the UCD senior team will enter the Cup in the second round, Swilly were informed that they’d go into the blue ribband competition.
Jason Gibson’s team have been draw at Swilly Park against Munster Senior League side UCC.
The game will take place on the weekend of Sunday, April 27.
The draw featured the 16 qualifiers from the Intermediate Cup and the four qualifiers from the FAI Junior Cup.
The First Round will feature seven ties and the seven winners plus the six clubs who received byes – including 2013 USL double winners Cockhill Celtic – will join the nineteen SSE Airtricity League clubs in the draw for the Second Round.
The First Round draw was performed by FAI President Paddy McCaul and former St Patrick’s Athletic midfielder Paul Osam and was as follows.
