I have many memories of Father HUGH Sweeney from when he was with us in Fintown I always said only for him and the hard work he did to get us the new church that was opened on the 8 th of December 1988 I for one and many others would agree with me that Father HUGH and the parish as a whole was very proud that Day as the new church opened That is one of many many great memories we all have of Father Hugh Sweeney He was a character in his own right and as he has left this world now for his eternal place with God in Heaven we all pray Eternal rest Grant on him O LORD and let per perpetual light shine on him May he rest in peace we ask this through CHRIST OUR LORD AMEN
A loving, kind and generous man.
He was always so nice and caring when as a child we used to visit his family at his home in Ballyness and following years when we visited Magheroarty.
He will be sadly missed – but never forgotten.
