Support Group Meeting for Stoma Patients in Donegal

Clinical Nurse Specialists from Letterkenny University Hospital are organising a support group meeting for patients with a stoma and their families on Tuesday, March 28 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm in the Mount Errigal Hotel.

Jodie-Anne McIntyre and Mary Sweeney, who are the Clinical Nurse Specialists organising the event, will be joined by the inflammatory bowel disease Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a physiotherapist, dietitian, Cancer Care West and a gym manager at the support group meeting to provide advice.

In addition a number of companies will display ostomy products.

Clinical Nurse Specialist Jodie-Anne McIntyre explains, “During the evening, there will be exhibit stands for new ostomy products like, hernia belts and support garments. The evening aims to support people with stomas and their families. It is an informal evening with the opportunity to speak with specialists from the multi-disciplinary team for advice and support. Refreshments will be served. People can bring a friend, everyone is welcome.”
