Support from home: Mica protest in Letterkenny

As thousands of people left Donegal early this morning to protest in Dublin for a 100 per cent Mica Redress Scheme, a lunchtime protest has taken place in Letterkenny.

Up to 100 people gathered outside the Public Services Centre this afternoon in solidarity with those whose homes are crumbling due to mica. Many of those at this afternoon’s protest were homeowners who are affected by the crisis, or have relatives whose homes are crumbling due to the defective blocks.

Those gathered held placards high demanding 100 per cent redress for homes in Donegal.

There was huge support for the protestors from passers-by with plenty of drivers tooting their car horns.
