St Patrick’s Academy 2-13 Abbey Vocational School4-14
Abbey Vocational School got their first ever MacRory Cup campaign off to the perfect start with a seven point win over St Patrick’s Academy, Dungannon in Trillick.
The Donegal Town school were goal hungry and while a Darragh Griffin goal helped them into a 1-5 to 0-6 lead on 18 minutes, they hit three more first half goals through Tiarnan McBride, Eoghan Gallagher and Conor McCahill.
That gave them a 4-5 to 1-7 lead at the break, Eoin Long getting the goal for the Dungannon side.
Another goal from Davin McKeown in controversial circumstances made it a four point game but that was as close as Abbey were pushed as they pushed forward ahead through McCahill, who top scored with 1-4, and further points from Oisin Doherty and McBride.
