Success for Donegal businesses in Irish Hospitality Awards

DONEGAL enjoyed much success in the 6th Irish Hospitality Awards, scooping awards in various categories.

The Silver Tassie Hotel was awarded Hotel of the Year, while the Shandon Hotel and Spa won Spa Hotel of the Year.

John’s Ireland and Walking Ireland scooped the ‘Best Day Out’ award, while Travers Holiday Park in Bundoran won ‘Best Entertaining Team’.

There was success too for Farren’s Bar in Malin Head – the recipient of ‘Best Bar’.

The Rory Gallagher Festival was highly commended under the category of ‘Best Irish Festival’, while Century Complex in Letterkenny was also highly commended under the ‘Best Cinema’ category.

Sliabh Liag Camping (Lergadaghtan) was also highly commended under the Best Caravan Park category, and McGrory’s Hotel in Culdaff was also highly commended.

The Irish Hospitality Awards aim to celebrate the dedication, skill and customer service of the professionals that work within establishments where excellence is standard.

They aim to acknowledge those who make a positive difference in this sector as well as the efforts that the experts put in ensuring their customers always receive top services and unforgettable experiences.

The winners were announced at a prestigious ceremony held on Monday, July 1 at The Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport, where thriving professionals gathered together for a celebration of the hospitality industry.

A spokesperson for the 6th Irish Hospitality Awards 2024 said the awards recognise those who have succeeded in the sector, despite the difficulties.

“Working for the hospitality industry can be challenging at times and the last few years have shown that.

“There are people who have dedicated their whole career in making the country a special destination for visitors.

“It is time to give those professionals the recognition they deserve.

“The awards provide a platform to thank and honour those who have contributed to making Ireland a friendly and welcoming place, enhancing the country’s reputation nationally and internationally.

“We would like to congratulate all of our winners and highly commended recipients on their incredible accomplishments.”
