GARDAÍ are investigating the theft of a substantial amount of copper from the ESB substation at Lurgybrack in Letterkenny.
The theft took place between 5pm on Monday, July 21 and 9.30am on Monday, July 28. The stolen items were 300m of copper wire (19 by 1.5) and nine 5m lengths of copper wire.
No damage was caused in order to gain entry to the site.
A garda spokesperson said: “We appeal to anyone who may have observed any suspicious activity in that area or who may be able to assist with relevant information to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on (074) 9167100 or to contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.”
