Students to take the stage for Our House the Musical at An Grianán Theatre

PREPARATIONS are underway for the opening night of ‘Our House the Musical’ this Wednesday, as students from Loreto Letterkenny and Saint Eunan’s College prepare to take the stage at An Grianan Theatre.

The musical, running until Saturday, March 7, promises a fantastic performance by the talented students from both schools.

The production explores the life of Joe Casey, being played by Ethan Barron, as his life divides into two when he makes a decision to either run away from the police, or turn himself in.

Other members of the cast include Mia Kelly, Lindsey Cullen, Nora Jane McDevitt, Rachel Bonner, Alfie Dean, Brody Haughey and Matthew Devenney.

Many teachers were involved with the organisation of the musical, notably Audrey Coyle, Iarla McGowan, Claire Curran, Elaine Gallagher and Niamhin Herron.

Rehearsals are currently ongoing for the week ahead.

Speaking to the Donegal News ahead of opening night, Maria Savin described the rehearsals as “tiring” and “constant work”, but said they are worth it, while Rachel Bonner added that the show was starting to come together.

With the musical’s opening night just around the corner, Mia Kelly said she felt both excited and nervous, while Hannah Babiker shared her anticipation to see the final production.

All the cast recommend the show, with Ethan Barron describing how the music and storyline are woven together to create a very enjoyable production, while Matthew Devenney says, “If you’re a fan of Madness, you’ll be a fan of this”.
