The Central Applications Office (CAO) will publish Round One college offers at 2pm this afternoon.
Over 2,000 students across Donegal received their long-awaited Leaving Cert results on Friday morning.
Applicants will be notified by email and by text message if they have selected this option.
Separate emails and texts will be issued in respect of Level 8 and Level 7/6.
The deadline to accept a Round One offer is Monday, September 2 at 3pm.
Round Two offers will then be released on Sunday, September 8.
Increase in demand
More than 50,000 students across Ireland are hoping to receive an offer of a place on the third-level course.
This year’s Leaving Certificate results been deflated compared to recent years, but the number of applicants to the CAO has risen considerably.
Therefore demand is up and there are significantly more students competing for college places.
However more places have been created in areas of high demand, such as health sciences courses, including at ATU Donegal where they have launched a new Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Physiotherapy programme.
The programme will commence this September 2025 at ATU’s Letterkenny campus. ATU’s BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy programme (CAO Code: AU374) will be open to applications via the CAO Available Places facility from 12 noon tomorrow, Thursday, August 28 until 11am on September 4.
ATU say the four-year, level 8 honours degree programme, will develop learners to become well-rounded, autonomous practitioners with the knowledge required to underpin the current demands of the profession capable of managing change, supporting their profession and patients, and developing professionally as physiotherapists.
Graduates of this programme will function as competent autonomous practitioners capable of collaborating and leading interprofessional teams in a variety of clinical environments.
The programme will commence at ATU’s Letterkenny campus on Monday, September 15 with a short window of opportunity to apply to join this programme.
Existing CAO applicants and those who have not previously applied to the CAO can apply to study Physiotherapy between 12 noon, August 28 and 11am September 4. Successful applicants, those who meet the entry and point requirements to join this programme, will be considered during Round 2 of the CAO offer process.
Round 2 offers will be made on September 8 via the CAO system. Those interested in applying to join the BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy programme can find out more about the programme by visiting atu.ie/AU374
If you are keen to connect with an ATU staff member in relation to this programme, be sure to join ATU’s Information Day. ATU’s Sligo, Letterkenny and Galway City Dublin Road campuses will host an Information Day in the three campus locations on Friday, August 29 from 11am to 2pm.
