Students prepare for CAO offers

By Róise Collins

THERE were scenes of joy, relief and celebration as over 2,000 students across Donegal received their long-awaited Leaving Cert results on Friday morning.

The Donegal News visited three local schools to see the reactions.

In each, the atmosphere was electric as classmates, teachers and families came together to mark the milestone.

We witnessed touching scenes as teachers shared in their students delight and were there to console and reassure those who hadn’t got the grades they had been hoping for.

But what was clear in all of the schools was the shift in focus from points.

Hot on the heels of the results are the CAO offers which are to be released on Wednesday.

For those who feel uncertain about their next steps to take, the Letterkenny Youth Information Centre (YIC) have announced a new campaign aimed at supporting young people who have received their results.

They will provide free, confidential youth information services to help young people explore their options.
