Oisin Gallen and Eoghan ‘Ban’ Gallagher followed up with points for Donegal, while John Ross Molloy squandered a goal chance.

HT: Clare 0-6 Donegal 0-3

Donegal were much improved in the third quarter, and a brace from Ciaran Thompson, as well as scores from Gallen and Caolan McGonagle had them level by 49th minute.

Hugh McFadden and Emmet McMahon swapped points before Donegal hit four scores on the spin.

Clare pulled one back but Oisin Gallen and Rory O’Donnell concluded the scoring for Donegal as they claimed a valuable win.

They will now play Derry in two weeks’ time in MacCumhaill Park.
