DONEGAL was one of the counties worst effected by outages when ‘Storm Gertrude’ battered the country last night and in the early hours of today.
ESB Networks crews were out since early this morning in difficult conditions, restoring power to more than 5,000 customers in a number of areas, including Fintown (2,000), Ballybofey (1,900) and Milford (1700). Power has been restored in most areas, except Fintown.
However all areas are expected to be reconnected by 9 pm tonight, including Donegal town and Pettigo which were also impacted.
“ESB crews hope to a have everyone in Donegal restored by 9 pm this evening (Friday). We apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused by the outages,” an ESB spokesman said.
