A DONEGAL businessman has claimed that scrap metal dealers in Northern Ireland are paying cash for property stolen in Donegal ‘on a daily basis’. Stolen in Donegal, sold in Derry City Posted: 1:24 pm August 5, 2011 SHARE EmailLinkedinTwitterFacebookPinterest BY CRONAN SCANLON Mr Liam Sweeney of LS Car Repairs in Killygordon was speaking to the Donegal News after thousands of euro worth of car parts were stolen from the rear of his crash repair business at the Cross, Killygordon. Immediately after he discovered the theft on Monday morning, he reported the incident to Gardai and then went around a number of scrap yards in Derry before he recognised his property. The items stolen included more than 100 radiators, car batteries and catalytic converters. A number of catalytic converters were also stolen from a yard at Carnadore, Castlefin, the same weekend.
