Steroid users treated for heart attacks

THE use of banned steroids among body builders is widespread in Letterkenny. Yesterday (Thursday) a leading GP confirmed to the Donegal News that his practice treated three patients in the past year who sustained ‘early heart-attacks’ while taking them.
Dr James McDaid also expressed deep concern about the growing availability of steroids and their side effects.

“There are huge dangers associated with these steroids, many of which are banned,” he said.
