A Sip of Irish, directed by Frank Mannion, celebrates the incredible story of Ireland’s contribution to the drinks and culinary world. It features Deirdre O’Carroll the Jameson whiskey blender and Rory Guinness with cameos from Pat Shortt, TV presenter Laura Whitmore, Una Healy, Ryan Tubridy, Michael Flatley, founder of Flatley Whiskey and Jurassic Park actor Sam Neill, who grew up in Tyrone.

Director Frank Mannion said the film has a strong local Donegal connection and was partly filmed here, with Muff Liquor Co (in which Russell Crowe is a proud investor) and Kinnegar Brewing being featured – Pat Shortt even reveals that Scraggy Bay IPA is his favourite tipple.

“To celebrate, Kinnegar Brewing will give a free drink to everyone who attends the premiere. And the audience will also get the chance to sample Muff Liquor too. My last film Quintessentially Irish featured Ricky Simms, a proud Donegal man who is the sports agent for two super-stars, Mo Farah and Usain Bolt. I am delighted that my new film also shines a spotlight on two amazing Donegal businesses – Kinnegar Brewing and Muff Liquor.”

The Sunday Times called the film “enchanting”, the Guardian “a cheerful celebration of beloved tipples of Irish origin” and the Mail “poured to perfection – raise a glass to this cinematic gem.

Filmed in spectacular locations around Ireland including Ballymaloe House (with renowned chef JR Ryall), Ballyfin and Midleton Distillery and Chateau Margaux in Bordeaux (once owned by the Irish).

It will surprise viewers who think of Ireland as just the home of stout and Irish stew.
