To celebrate the making of the promo, Raidió na Gaeltachta will take over Gleann Cholm Cille for the shoot day, with live transmissions, music, food and craic.
The party will form the backdrop for the promo, and all are welcome on the day. Up to 100 people will be needed as volunteer extras on the day.
Casting Call
Tomorrow (Saturday), there will be an open cast from 11am to 5pm in Oideas Gael to find budding actors to take part in the promo along with some of the RnaG stars, including Seán Bán Breathnach, Rónán Mac Aodha Bhuí, Eibhlín Ní Chonghaile and Cian Ó Cíobháin.
The director and the producer of the promo will be in Gleann Cholm Cille to find people for eight featured parts. They would also love to see anyone else who would like to volunteer as extras.
The casting call is open to anyone from Gaeltacht areas, or Irish speakers, from all over the country, with no need for acting experience. Featured parts will receive a small gratuity, but all other parts will be on a voluntary basis.
The featured cast will include: GAA Players – three players to feature, but Raidió na Gaeltachta would like the whole local GAA club on board for the broader shoot too.
So if you play for a local team, please come along; Irish Dancers – One special girl to feature in the promo, probably 7 to 12 years old, but lots of other dancers and teachers will be needed too so RnaG would love to hear from local dancing schools; Young Lad – A young guy, 16-21 years.
If you look like you’re into your music and a listener of Cian Ó Cíobháin’s An Taobh Tuathail show, then get in touch. Women – The producers want three women who love the chats! If you’re over 50, with a good hearty laugh let’s hear from you.
