St Eunan’s Aaron Deeney wins a penalty in last week’s game against Burren


St Eunan’s minor team will meet Armagh champions Clann Eireann in the quarter-final of the St Paul’s Ulster Minor Football Tournament in Belfast on Sunday, after seeing off Burren last week.

Clann Eireann from Lurgan, are highly-rated and defeated Crossmaglen Rangers in their county final.They will be formidable opponents for Paul McGovern and Brian McGeehin’s side.

“The draw hasn’t been kind and we have Clann Eireann from Armagh who won the Paul McGirr (Ulster Under 16 tournament) two years ago,” said McGovern.

“We got the holders in the first round and the Paul McGirr winners from two years ago in a quarter-final so if we’re going to win it, we’re going to do it the hard way.

“Clann Eireann have had a great advantage of being able to go on Sunday and watch us.”
