St Eunan’s College 0-15 Rathmore Grammar 3-7
St Eunan’s College suffered a late sucker punch in the MacLarnon Cup as they were defeated by a single point by Rathmore at the Mid-Ulster Sports Arena in Cookstown on Monday.
The Letterkenny men had a terrible start and were 2-1 to no score down after 10 minutes thanks to goals from Aodhan O’Hanlon and Joseph Logan.
But they got it back to 2-2 to 0-6 at the break and soon levelled the game up through Jack Robinson’s second point of the game, while Shane Tinney and Cathal Doherty also hit two scores each.
Tinney brought his tally to five and further points from Callum McGilloway and Robinson had them three ahead with two minutes to go.
But Logan hit the net for a second time and pointed as they won the kick out in the last minute, while St Eunan’s failed to level before full-time as the Belfast school held on for the win.
