St Columba’s see off Loreto, Milford in schools final

Loreto Community, School, Milford 1-2 St Columba’s College, Stranorlar

ST COLUMBA’S College, Stranorlar claimed the Dr Tony O’Neill Senior Ulster Cup when they saw off Loreto Community School, Milford at the Letterkenny Community Centre today.

There was little between the teams in the first half but Declan Patton put St Columba’s in front just before the break.

Loreto were the better side in the second half and pushed hard for an equaliser.

However, they couldn’t find one and St Columba’s took a big step towards victory when the excellent Peter Sweeney headed home.

Ciaran Connaghan pulled a goal back for Loreto at the death but St Columba’s held on for glory and now advance to the All-Ireland semi-finals.
