RYAN McHugh is pleased with Donegal’s strength-in-depth this season.
The 2016 All Star was in good form against Derry last week and his side proved to be too strong for Derry.
Compeititon for places is intense in the Donegal camp at the moment, and Odhran MacNiallias and Daire Ó Baoill both impressed when introduced.
Cian Mulligan has come off the bench to score goals against Cavan and Derry, and his pace is a huge asset especially when defenders tire in the second half.
“I wouldn’t like to be tracking him,” McHugh quipped.
“No it’s great, and you need a squad. It’s not just 15 players. It’s 32 or 35, even boys that aren’t on the bench.
“To be fair, we are lucky in Donegal that we have a panel of players, and every night at training our A v B games are extremely good.
“That’s what you need, and Dublin are the prime example. People say Dublin’s B team is the second best team in Ireland.
“You need people pushing in a squad, and the subs against Derry made a real impact.”
