GARDAI have confirmed they are investigating threats made to a Department of Social Protection employee who received the spent shell of a bullet in the post last week.
The shell, along with a threatening message, were posted to the home of the female employee’s father in Lifford last Wednesday.
Speaking to the Donegal News, Superintendent Vincent O’Brien said that gardai were aware of the matter and it was currently being investigated by gardai in Lifford.
The spent shell and threatening letter were sent to the home of the father of a person who works in the Department of Social Protection in Buncrana. However, the Superintendent said he could not comment further on the matter at this stage.
