Speeding driver ordered to undergo programme

A YOUNG man caught driving at more than double the speed limit has been ordered to undertake a driver safety course.

Gardaí were conducting a speed check operation on the Port Road on Thursday, June 19 last when they observed a driver travelling at 137kph in a 60kph speed limit zone.

Letterkenny District Court was told that when gardaí stopped the car and spoke to its driver, Ryan Ridge, 22, 1 Rathcavan Drive, Ballymena, Co. Antrim, that he was fully apologetic.
