Speed camera disgust

A DONEGAL councillor has said that he was “pure disgusted” with a decision not to erect a static (speed) camera on the N14 road between Pluck and Drumoghill and to relocate it to the N13 between Manorcunningham and Newtowncunningham.

Cllr Donal Coyle has been informed that the decision was made following an assessment process carried out through the Road Safety Authority, and an Garda Siochana.

Speaking at the monthly meeting of the Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District Council, he said that he had been highlighting dangers on the N14 for a year, and recalled a recent accident at Carrickballydooey, where a car overturned and landed in a stream.

“I certainly believe that’s where the static camera should be,” he maintained.

He was informed that the matter would be followed up and a more detailed update will be prepared for a future meeting.
