A HALF a century after they exited the gates for the last time (some of them with a pronounced sense of relief and joy!) former students from the 1970-1975 class in St Eunan’s College are being invited back to their old Alma Mater for a weekend of reminiscing and recollection.
The Reunion will take place on Saturday, September 13 – and either side of it! – and a WhatsApp forum has been set up to outline details and provide the necessary platform for would be attenders.
Already there has been a positive response from students and the chief organisers Mark Tracey, who is responsible for initiating the reunion, and Damian Crawford, are looking for more fellow class mates of old to get in touch and confirm their attendance.
It’s hoped to meet up in Blake’s Bar on Friday night, September 12 to get the reintroductions underway before a visit to the College the following morning where there’ll be a tour of the campus, and the celebration of mass where former students from the era, now deceased, will be remembered.
Light refreshments will follow at the College and later that night, a dinner will be hosted in the Mount Errigal Hotel where the craic will continue possibly even beyond midnight!
Those still around can meet up again for breakfast at the same venue on the Sunday morning before parting ways with the promise of meeting again for the 75th reunion…!
If you’re one of those who plodded through those gates at Sentry Hill – or even sneaked out them to avoid a certain class or classes! – and want to meet up again with your fellow students from the era, you can contact Mark Tracey at 087-2613442 (bizmark1205@gmail.com) or Damien Crawford at 087-2826444.
