Spanish cellist looks forward to festival involvement

The Donegal Camerata.

A WELL-known Letterkenny based Spanish musician said he is delighted to once again be part of several shows during this year’S Earagail Arts Festival (July 7 to 22).

Malaga native, cellist Victor Yelamo performed at an evening which will brought poetry and music together in Gortahork on Wednesday, and will be playing an evening of Summer Classics with his Donegal Camerata String Ensemble at Glenveagh Castle.

On Saturday, 14th and Sunday, July 15, Victor and the Camerata String Ensemble are delighted to welcome Derry-based flute player Sarah Murphy for two concerts as part of this year’s Earagail Arts Festival.

Victor said: “Sarah is a well known flute player, very much involved in promoting music making, educating and playing across the Northwest.

We will perform in the Glenveagh Castle, where – among our other pieces – we will play the famous Adagio for Strings by Barber (Samuel Barber was a regular guest in the Castle) and we will repeat the same programme in the Conwal Parish Church, on Sunday.
