SATURDAY night sees new musical adventure begin for one talented Letterkenny woman as she launches her debut album.
Mary Bates only began singing last summer but, already, she has found the confidence to unleash her talent on a welcoming public with ‘Melodies of Healing’ to be heard for the first time in Carr’s of Diamond Bar, in Ballyare Ramelton.
With the help of her partner on song selection and melodies, fellow singer Malcom Fisher, Mary was able to write twelve original tunes, crammed with heartfelt material through the various ups and downs that come with constructing an album.
In addition to Malcolm, Mary received invaluable help from Percy Robinson who produced the album and UK-based trio Henry Smith, Sean Kerrigan and Les Thompson who assisted in track arrangement.
Mary has expressed her heartfelt thanks to everyone who has helped her on her journey. She recently received a certificate from the Guinness Archive Awards in Dublin for her endeavours.
Mary is inviting people to join her on Saturday evening for a night of music, song and dance, with spot prizes and refreshments available.
A night not to be missed!
