Some dos and don’ts for your essential guide to rock any weekend!

Some dos and don’ts for your essential guide to rock any weekend!

With the whole of Ireland in summer mode it is clear that festival mood is not far away. So it is time to talk festival fashion, hair and make up!

I know it sounds like a lot but believe me they are essentials and cannot be left out! We have a round up of dos and don’ts for your essential guide to rock any weekend!

Do festival style braids; they are easy to wear and bang on festival trend.

Do invest in a floppy straw sun hat. If the weather’s nice it’ll keep the rays out of your eyes, and if it’s not it’ll be an invaluable device for hiding three-day-old hair. You can pick one up in anywhere from Pennys to Rover Island.

Don’t bother with fussing with clip in hair extensions; they will look messy after a day and awkward to put in.

Don’t bring hair straighteners – sockets are hard to come by around campsites.

Do get a spray tan, it will stay in place for the whole outing and you will be streak free. Do wear loads of sunscreen; burned skin is sore when you are in a tent!

Do make sure you pack your one festival essential; a pair of killer sunglasses that can hide tired and hangover eyes! Don’t bother with instant tan; even though the sun is shining, it may rain, this is Ireland after all! Go for a spray tan that will last you all weekend.

Do get clothes that you can layer – if it’s hot take it off, if it’s cold keep it on. Do bring your wellies: Let’s not kid ourselves, this is Ireland. Even if the weatherman has promised sunshine, always be prepared as one spell of drizzle can make a whole lot of mud!

Do pick up grandad shirts – Your granddad might not be the most likely of style icons, but if it’s good enough for the likes of Alexa Chung, it’s good enough for us: we loved the slouchy grandpa shirt look with her denims or cut-off shorts.

A major festival yes! Don’t even think about heels; stilettos really are the biggest don’t of a festival wardrobe, they are a waste of space in your backpack!

HEAT WAVE HAIR STYLES

With the welcome arrival of sunnier weather means weddings, parties and holidays are on their way and, in turn, some new-season hair inspiration is required.

While we love the heat, lets face it; it does not work well with long hair, causing us to be more hot and bothered than in anyway hot. The heat also leads to a less than perfect mane when humidity kick ins.

Thankfully the Spring Summer 2013 catwalks were awash with summer friendly and wearable styles, from romantically dishevelled up-dos to prim beehives. The best thing about these is that they are up up and away from causing uncomfortable heat!

If you’re in need of something simple and speedy, but with impact opt for a simple looped ponytail, this really is as straightforward as can be. Loop some plaits into the pony tail for a bit of variety on the classic pony.
