Social distancing rules would slash Ballybofey capacity

If the current Ulster SFC draw is retained and Donegal eventually do welcome Tyrone to MacCumhaill Park, the Ballybofey venue’s capacity will be severely limited.

The GAA hasn’t yet considered playing games behind closed doors. But if there are to be crowds at GAA games, capacities will need to be drastically reduced.

However, the attendance could vary greatly, depending on whether a one or two-metre social distancing rule is enforced.

Ballybofey has previously hosted 23,000 supporters on championship day. But health and safety measures in recent seasons has reduced that to 17,000…
