A novel fund-raiser in which people are asked to predict the outcome of ten 2018 GAA Championships is expected to test the knowledge of the most seasoned Gael over the course of the coming season.
The fund-raiser in aid of Inbhear na Mara Residential Unit, Bundoran, was launched this week by well-known St Nauls club-man Brian McCabe.
Costing €10, entrants are asked to name the teams who will win the provincial Championships in football and hurling, the respective All-Ireland titles together with the All Ireland Ladies and Donegal Senior Football Championships through a series of ten questions.
“I’ve seen first hand the great work of the staff in Bundoran and when I heard that they were looking for a new mini bus I decided to try and do something about it,” McCabe said.
A former St Nauls player and manager, Brian is a renowned fund-raiser who has collected almost €50,000 towards Crumlin Hospital through running marathons and various draws.
“This draw will test out a few boys knowledge alright,” he laughed.
“Whoever comes closest to getting all ten answers correct will win the €400 first prize,” he added.
Closing date for entries is Saturday, May 12. For further information contact Brian McCabe at (087) 756-7036.
