Sister Marian Larkin to be laid to rest today in Dublin

LETTERKENNY woman, Sister Marian Larkin will be laid to rest today in Dublin.

Sr Larkin, late of Loreto Convent, Balbriggan, passed away on Saturday, March 30.

She will be laid to rest in Loreto Convent Cemetery today following Requiem Mass in St Peter and Paul’s Church, Balbriggan, at 11am this morning.

In a post online, Loreto Letterkenny paid tribute to Sr Larkin, who was a past pupil of the school.

“Marian was a very proud past pupil of our school, a Loreto Sister and a staff member. May she rest in peace.

“She remained a very committed and supportive friend to our school. May God reward her for her commitment to education and the Loreto ethos down through the years.”

Sr Larkin is survived by her loving brothers and sisters, Joan, Louie, Kevin, Jackie, Elsie, Jim, Terry, Brendan and Adrian and by her many nieces and nephews and extended family, by her Loreto Sisters and by her many friends in her hometown of Letterkenny.

Sr Larkin was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Mary Ellen, her brothers Billy and Alexander and by her sisters, Frances, Celie and Dorothy.
