Amhrán Pheadar Breathnach is a single from Daiane’s forthcoming Album which has been described by Neil Martin as “being a treat for many’s the ear and soul.

“The songs all in Irish, come from the Donegal Tradition, that deep well of beautifully crafted songs, many of which will be known to the keen listener but that on this recording will immediately and equally grab the attention of the novice.”

The focus is very specific here-on songs associated with the north west coast of Donegal and some with Tory Island.

Diane has known and lived amongst these songs her entire life, yet nonetheless we hear them afresh as in collobration with Dónal O’Connor, they are given contemporary arrangements.

This allows the songs their new journey while at the same time have an accessible appeal and this is true also of Amhrán Pheadar Breathnach.

The new song was released on Bandcamp and all other digital platforms on Sunday September 10 and the accompanying video was released yesterday (Sunday) at the Crolly Distillery.

The song was played by Fiachna Ó Braonáin on the John Creedon Show on RTE Radio 1 on Monday evening last and Daine was interviewed by Páidí Ó Sé on Radio Na Gaeltachta on Monday afternoon last.
