Staff at DaVinci’s posted on Facebook this week paying tribute to former owner Garvan O’Doherty, adding how they were looking forward to working with the Carndonagh- born Simpson brothers.

“We’re all incredibly excited here at DaVinci’s Hotel to work with our new owners and we look forward to welcoming you all to our wonderful hotel. As we embark on our new journey of delivering unparalleled hospitality to the people of Derry and beyond.”

While customers have been warned there may be some changes during the transition period, the hotel will be open for business.

“Our hotel will continue to operate as normal however, our kitchen will be operating on a reduced capacity (breakfast only). Please keep an eye for further updates,” the post said.

The Simpson family have substantial property interests across a number of sectors employing a large number of people on both sides of the border.
