Sign changes for Cathedral Quarter

SOME signage for the Cathedral Quarter in Letterkenny needs to be changed to allow people to find the area, Cllr Donal Mandy Kelly told Tuesday’s meeting of the Letterkenny Milford MD.

He pointed out that signs for the area at Main Street, the old Courthouse and Church Lane currently read ‘Ecclesiastical Quarter’ and should read ‘Cathedral Quarter’.

“We are all aware of the trojan work done there and it is now know as the Cathedral Quarter.

“I was told a lady from Carrigart who now lives in Cork could not find any signage for the area. People she asked were not aware of it. When people are driving down the main street they can see the signs,” Cllr Kelly said.

In response the council executive said; “if this motion is passed the necessary amendments and replacements of signage will be made”.
