Showcasing Donegal community support services at Tusla’s informative event

THE Tusla team in Donegal hosted a one-day Marketplace event this morning in the Vestry at St Conal’s, Letterkenny.

This event provided an opportunity for Tusla and other professionals to find out more about Tusla funded community and voluntary providers and Family Resource Centres in Donegal.

Representatives were able to connect and get a better understanding of the services provided to children and families across the county.

Speaking about the event, Marie Crawley, Tusla Area Manager Donegal, said: “This information event was a great opportunity to find out how we can work better together to provide services for families and children in Donegal and ensure we are meeting the needs of local communities.

“It is important that we understand the many different services provided by Tusla funded services to maximise the potential supports for children, young people and families in the area.”

The exhibition showcased a variety of services such as Foróige, Donegal Family Resource Centres, Alcohol Forum Ireland, Donegal Travellers Primary Healthcare Project, Elevate 55, Lifeline (Inishowen), Donegal parent and Family Support Service, the Raphoe Diocesan Pastoral Centre, and LYFS.

They offer a wide range of supports from addiction supports, domestic abuse supports, youth clubs and counselling.

Tusla also shared information on parenting and Meitheal services available to help families who need support.

The event provided professionals an opportunity to meet with a range of local services providing family supports in Donegal, creating awareness of the supports available and how to access them.
