Sales for 2025 are already up 37 per cent compared to this period last year which is leading to predictions of a busy few months ahead for local businesses.

The Shop LK branding initiative was launched by Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce back in 2004.

Its success was highlighted at a special event in Castle Grove Country House on Thursday night held to celebrate the chamber’s 60th anniversary.

Chamber President Jimmy Stafford said when Shop LK was launched 21 years ago, it was truly ahead of its time.

Revealing the huge increase on year-on-year Shop LK gift card sales, he said so far in 2025, over 26,000 cards have been sold, with 134,000 in-store transactions recorded.
