FIVE men have been charged following a disturbance at mass in Letterkenny this morning.
Gardaí in Letterkenny are investigating a number of incidents of public order that occurred at Ballyraine, Letterkenny, this morning at approximately 11.30am.
The five men, aged in their 60s and 30s, were arrested in relation to the public order offences and a number of weapons were seized at the scene.
A garda spokesperson said: “All five men have been charged in relation to the incidents and investigations ongoing.”

The Donegal News understands a morning mass in Letterkenny was interrupted by a large disturbance earlier.
It’s understood mass was being held in the Church of the Irish Martyrs at 11.30am this morning, when a dispute arose between a number of people outside the building.
It’s further understood that such was the magnitude of the disturbance that mass had to be abandoned for a short time.
Numerous garda vehicles, including the armed response unit, were in attendance.
The group in question dispersed a short time later.
