GERARD Shiels says Glenswilly targeted a good start in Sunday’s Under 21 ‘B’ Final against Glenfin, and a strong first half was key to their win.
Glenswilly blew Malin away in the first half of their semi-final and they wanted to take command of matters again at the Bridge.
It took them some time to establish control but they led by five points at the break, and knew as long as they played smart football in the second half then they would be victorious.
“We talked during the week about how important it would be to get a good start,” said wing-forward Shiels, who got through a mountain of work.
