Sheep’s remains dumped at popular walk

By Róise Collins

LOCALS have been left “distressed” as remains of a sheep were dumped near the entrance to a popular forest walk in Falcarragh.

Independent councillor Michael McClafferty has expressed his concern at the incident.

“I know that things are tight in the farming sector at present, but if funds are not available for animal disposal then get out the spade and shovel,” he said.

“It would be better than driving to a forest to dump it.”

He claimed the sheep did not belong to a local farmer despite speculation and instead it was driven to the area to be dumped.

He said that going by the breed of the animal, it didn’t come from a local farm.
