GARDAÍ are reminding dog owners of their responsibilities following an attack on sheep in Bunbeg in which two ewes died.
Speaking this afternoon, the force said dogs should not be allowed to roam.
“Gardaí in Bunbeg received a report of an attack on sheep that occurred in the Derrybeg area over the past few days” said a spokesperson.
“Two ewes in lamb were killed as a result of the attack. If anybody has any information that might assist Gardaí with their enquiries, we ask them to contact Gardaí in Milford on 074-9153060.
“We wish to remind dog owners of the harm their pets can cause if let roam free or unsecured and not kept under effectual control. With dog ownership comes responsibility. Secure your dog, have it microchipped and registered with your vet. Dogs should not be allowed to roam.
Please keep your family pet under effectual control.”
