Setanta show ‘grit and resilience’

A hugely relieved Setanta manager Gary McGettigan paid tribute to the grit and resilience of his men as they eventually overcame a massive challenge from a spirited Eoghan Ruadh side to win by two points.

It looked bleak for McGettigan’s men when they trailed by 1-5 to 0-2 midway through the first half.

However, the youthful Oisin Marley and Josh Cronolly McGee stood tall and hauled them back into contention with Declan Coulter landing a few vital frees.

“It’s hard to get your breath back after that game and it was real nail-biting stuff, but I am just glad that we got the result,” said McGettigan.

“It is exactly what we needed after a 14-week break.”
